Early this morning after I dropped off my wife at the hospital where she works as a nurse I decided to try to find a beautiful place to catch the sunrise. I drove around several lakes in the area and they were all gated and opened for certain park hours or they were on private property. This lake was also in a gated property, but I did not see any "No Trespassing" signs, and there were bike trails that made its way through it. So I parked the car, took my camera bag and Harvey on a leash. We hopped over the fence and ran through a large cowfield to this spot.
Since we moved to florida one year ago, we've found Florida to be boring and dull for landscape photography and outdoor activities. Especially for my wife, that came from the Pacific Northwest. Here, there are no mountains, the beach is too far, and lake-water activities have extra risks due to gators in the water. But as an aspiring Landscape Photographer, I refuse to put the camera away. This year, I have been amazed by the beauty that I've been able to capture simply because I tried.
