I have spent a great deal of time this last week immersed in reruns of the 1950s/1960s quiz show, What's My Line? I watched the program as a kid during the '60s, which would have been toward the end of its original seventeen-year run (two additional incarnations ran for another eight or so years).
It's been interesting to see the low-tech aspects of the show, the clothes of the female panelists and guests, as well as the panelists' remarks and general attitudes regarding women's looks and occupations, "fat" people, and other such I sensitivities. The program is nonetheless funny and charming and entertaining.
I managed to break away long enough to go out for a walk into the Castro, making my way to the top of Sanchez Street, getting a relatively good dose of cardiovascular work.
