False alarm

So this is what being 40's like? What a great way to spend a Friday...

I've been having weird, sometimes pretty nasty pain in my arms for a while, both left and right, upper and lower. It moves around and comes and goes. Today when I woke up it was really, really F*cking bad. Couldn't make a fist or grip stuff and I could hardly lift my arm. My wrist was swollen and there was a slight redness to it. So around lunchtime I called my health insurance and they booked me a doctor's appointment on Monday. Like two minutes after we hung up the nurse called me up again and told me she'd thought on it some more, and that I should go to the emergency room. Since there was a swelling and a redness, there was a chance that it could be a blood clot.

I called another number and they said the same thing. Leave work NOW, go directly to the ER. So off I went. Spent almost two hours waiting, got to see the doctor and he basically told me "Blood clot?! Hell no! Why are you even here?!" but in a much nicer way. He also said I had an infection moving around and and that I should get it looked at but that it in no way was an emergency. By then the pain had started to go down a bit and I could use my hand again, if very carefully. Now, several hours later, it's much better.
