I went for a walk that ended up being a little more than five miles. I took a couple of film cameras with me, and as is my custom, I shot an accompanying digital frame with the phone so that I'm able to organize the film shots by date and (approximate) time. This is one such frame. Typically, I shoot the frames cockeyed so that they are easily recognized as time-frame frames, and I generally don't give much consideration to composition or timing... I just rapidly expose so that the time recorded is within ten seconds or so of the film exposure.
Which is exactly what I did with here, edited to get rid of the severe kant. There are people and cars in the frame that for the film version, I would wait and wait and wait to get out of the shot.
I don't know why you'd care to know that, but there you go.
I decided to post this because I didn't come home with a wealth of shots for the day, despite the long walk, but also because I like this building. I have since I first saw it six years ago upon having moved to San Francisco, but I've never been at this intersection this early in the day, when the face of the café is illuminated by the sun. One of these days, I will get up and out with the sun just coming up to photograph it properly.
