Circuit boards

So for this week's theme I figured I'd take a product photo of my own product! The boards are my design that I made last week (see last Friday's post), using a weird photo of Marge from the Simpsons I found online somewhere (I am unsure of the artist, sorry, it was just the only thing I had to test out with!). It feels really good to hold in my hand something I whipped together in an evening and it actually works! I learnt a lot about circuit board design, and there was one pretty major design flaw that I will be sure to never do again. The problem was too much copper on the ground area making it incredibly difficult to solder to as the entire board was acting as a heatsink. This is probably PCB design 101, but I'm still learning. And I've already corrected this for the next time. I can't wait to do more of this in the future as it's a lot of fun. #theme-products
