This is how people welcome pilgrims. Even though the house does not have a bathroom and the lady (on the left) does not have much, pilgrims get a sweet welcome. On the table there was food for like 12 people, but there were only 7 guests - 3 other brothers were outside at that moment. When we started eating she left the room, which was a bit weird. It turns out that due to stomach surgery she had, she can not eat anything on the table... We asked her to come to us so we can talk with her at least.
I was surprised. As I was on this pilgrimage 19 years ago with my parents, I remember very poor people sharing their place and food. It turms out that this lady has gas connected to her house and she changed windows for new plastic (we can see an old window in the photo on the right in the background). But all of that thanks to her children, who live in cities and have some savings.
