January 9th, 1890 - the day Karel Čapek, one of the famous Czech writers, was born. Here a photo of one of his illustrated books "War with the Newts" - a satirical dystopian novel, with anti-fascist notions (published in 1936). I really like his books. By the way, did you know that the word ROBOT originates from his writings? One of the few Czech worldwide linguistic creations.
