This is one of my favorite place i go to from time to time. Not far from time square in Manhattan NY , where i can lay down on the floor, use my bag as a pillow to support my neck, hold the camera without tripod, one eye at the view finder, the other eye watching my surrounding since there is so many people walking by and wondering what i am aiming at, i frame my shot and hold it tight waiting for the airplanes to pass by far up in the air; So to get the best shot ever, i need to go many times at the same time to record the timing for the following day shot..Not easy but really worth it.
Just looking at the view finder only gives you the sense of the outer space like there is no one else by you, those building and the people riding the airplanes passing you by.... Very interesting how this photograph froze a moment in other people's life, froze it up in the air. Who was in that airplane, what were they doing or thinking or where were they even going ? I guess its the beauty and the mystery of a photograph where you do not see a soul but actually there is thousands of people hidden behind those shapes.
