While I enjoy the latest-and-greatest CGI stuff, there are times I miss the Art of the Practical Effect.

Last night I was sitting on my front stoop looking for something to shoot. I set my camera up on a tripod and was just having fun. Part way through the shoot I remembered something I saw once; zooming in and out while the shutter was open. So that's what I did.
