Talk about a good samaritan .... hubby received a call from the police on Wednesday evening asking if there was any chance that he could take his Green Goddess Fire Engine to a local park as they needed to pump out a pond. Hubby made a couple of telephone calls, Ray arranged not to go hay making today, and three men left home before 8am this morning. They returned home at about 6.30pm, rather tired but with a sense of satisfaction. Apparently the pond was about the size of a tennis court and they lowered the level some three feet or more; the engine pumped for over seven hours and they estimate it used about £80 of fuel!
