Sitting

One of the things I love about photography is how creative it allows you to be. I grabbed my camera earlier ready to go outside and take some pictures of trees or leaves or something else I've probably done a dozen times already. But then, as I was about to leave the house I noticed the light coming through the kitchen window. It lit up our table nicely and then I had the idea to try to take a picture in that bit of light. That didn't work out like I wanted but then I had the idea to go out front and try another picture of myself to have for this weeks theme. I set up my camera real quick, guessed on the focus and set the timer. I got this shot on the first try.

I love how my thought process completely changed and I went from my first idea about trees and ended up with a pretty neat selfie. Photography and other creative outlets really help me switch gears in my head and it was a nice way to break up the day for a little bit. That's one of the reasons why I shoot.
