Lightning

We've had a lot of storms lately and I've really wanted to get a lightning shot, but the situation hasn't been right - too early in the day with too much background light, behind the trees where I can't get a clear view, etc. But it was one of my goals. Fast forward to last night. It was the perfect temperature with a light breeze, stars were shining, and I decided to sleep on the (covered) porch. All was peaceful as I drifted off. Suddenly I awoke to a huge storm. I glanced at my clock and saw it was just past midnight. Annoyed at having my sleep disturbed, I rolled over to go back to bed. As I lay there, it struck me that it was after midnight, now the day of my 100th pic! How perfect would it be to get my dreamed-of lightning shot for pic 100?? So the adrenalin hit, I grabbed my camera, and then spent the next half hour taking pictures until the storm moved off.
