We can buy them already cut but that is expensive or we can pay $5.00 CAD to the provincal government and cut down 3 trees in designated areas here in Alberta. In Ontario when our children were young we would go to Christmas tree farms where we would have a very limited amount of trees to choose from to cut down but we were able to go on a horse driven hay ride and buy a cup of hot chocolate, that whole experience could be bought for around $100.00 CAD more or less. Now we get to go into the wilderness and choose from so many trees with no crowds and I bring a thermos of boiled water and make our own cups of hot chocolate :D
