Clara's Lansing Station

The west side of the former Clara's, a one-time train station, built in 1903 in downtown Lansing, Michigan, and closed in 1972. The building was purchased in 1978 and converted into a restaurant, and (not in view of this photo) had a railway dining car attached to the building in 1999, which expanded the capacity and added a unique aspect to the restaurant.

Citing much-needed (and expensive) repairs to the roof and parking lot, the owner decided to close the restaurant last year. In the thirty years I lived in the area, I think I ate there only once.
