It is 71st Anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. We went to pay our respect and memory to the heroes who fought for our city. As always, there is discussion if it was a right decision to start the Uprising or not, but to me, being born and raised here, having my family be part of World War II reality and brutality, it is mostly a day of remembrance. Uprising, apart from the obvious, was filled with songs. Music was one of the things that kept fighting young people's (many being children) spirit up. For 9th year now, Warsaw Uprising Museum organized a concert, where the citizens of current Warsaw meet to sing together. The same songs which could be heard among sounds of shooting and bombs 71 years ago. There was few thousand people gathered, crying, smiling, singing loud and proud, making it an exceptional experience. This small girl caught my eye. It's good to see that parents pass the history, tradition and respect to following generations. Only that way, we can keep remembering, understanding and cherishing our city.
