Katrina Yu Aww, they also help with the chores? So adorable! Need to train mine here to be as half as helpful as yours. 😉

Yumi Miyazaki @itskatrina more like a troublemaker than a help! LOL ! U have new puppy, Katrina?

Katrina Yu Yup! New puppy, 2 months old. A Belgian Terv. I never trained a pup before but I want to try with this one in a few months. Do you have any tips?? :)

Yumi Miyazaki Woaaaaa 2 months old!! Congratulation! Its the cutest time ! (Also the most terrible potty and naughty time! LOL!) Belgian terv -- i am not sure about this breed, but at this age, (any puppy of any breed) the attention lifespan is very low, so potty training and very very short obedience training would be suitable. Such as play bite (meaning train not to bite hard on our hand or children), etc. Hmm... Its hard to explain, but i used to look up to zac george in youtube or kikopup, they are both using positive reinforcement .... zac george has many tips on what to do with small puppy. As for potty training, i did crate training, the bladder is very small (like human baby, lol) ... so i crate most of the time during the day, then i let puppy out to grass every 15mins- every half hour, very tiring... surely... this time can vary depending on each puppy. In this way, puppy is trained to hold it in the crate, and only release it in the grass / dedicated place. If trained right, potty training will be fast. If not, puppy would have accidents very often until 6 months - 1 year. Accident will happen for the first 8 months, its common, but frequency of potty accident shall reduce after 4 months, coz they can hold the bladder better. Within 1 month of crate training, my puppy has lesser accident, i reduce her crate time. She had accidents few times until 6 months i think. But it depends on each puppy, timeline does not matter but just a reference. When i trained potty, i trained them to speak/bark to tell me that they need to go outside. They however did not do that now lolol! I let them out frequent enough to let them potty. Some owners use bell, coz they prefer their dog not to bark or rather its quite hard to train dog to bark on command. Also, typically 2 months cannot go outside and play, because puppy is not fully vaccinated yet, not enough immunity yet. Such as rabies or distemper etc etc. but it is better to discuss this topic with a vet. Also need to watch their feeding and poop, if poop has shape and not runny, it means puppy can digest well enough, if too runny, its too much food. Cannot digest. I was told that. Owner to owner is different, some fed 3 times a day, some free feeding n let food out all day, some fed 2 times a day. I feed 2 times a day and i put hot water with her kibbles (like a cereal lol), and if puppy does ok, no vomit and etc, continue on. Don't change food brand suddenly, make it a gradual change. Oh man i m writing too long lol! Im sorrry!!!! Anyway, at 2 months - 1 year, shaping to good obedient is most recommended. Shaping to the desired behaviour, repeat consistently, slowly it becomes a habit. Zac george/ kikopup videos would give u ideas. I used to train some tricks to my puppy but honestly, tricks are just for fun. At the time of dire such as run away, there is deer/coyote/skunk, obedient is the one i need the most. ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻 @itskatrina
