When I saw these darling SALT SHAKERS at Twice Blessed resale shop in Mercer several weeks ago, I knew they would be perfect as vases for SHORT-STEMMED flowers. How sweet they look with my garden zinnias.
(After a Friendly Frolic wrap up meeting with the LLPOA office staff, I did nothing of importance. I was still concerned about my tumor. Later that afternoon, Annette, the Program Director from Shadyside Hospital and I finally got connected. I told her what she said made sense, but how drastically different her precautions were. Had I known, I would have scheduled the procedure for the end of summer rather in the middle of so many physical summer activities. I asked if something went wrong during the procedure to cause the change? She said not at all. She just likes to be overly cautious regarding restrictions. I’ll say! When we went through the list of possible side effects – slurred speech, double vision, unsteadiness, BRAIN BLEEDS – she said that won’t happen. My tumor was not close enough to have those things occur. I told her I found the informational packet she gave me two weeks prior, but determined that most of it didn’t apply to me. No cancer, no continuing treatment, no fatigue, no need for nutritional services. But just to be sure, I highlighted other precautions from the packet, but she said that didn’t apply to me either. I didn’t say it, but I sure did think it, “Then why did I receive the packet and why did you scare me so?” Plus, my appointment was changed from 3 months to 6 months, just as the doc originally said. But now that she planted that seed in my brain (no pun intended), it sure would be nice to know if the radiation did what it was intended to do and that increased heart rate and the subsequent increase blood flow to my brain WOULD NOT give the chance for the tumor to grow.
