tree dahlias are coming

After growing all summer and fall, the tree dahlias are finally setting flower and it looks like they'll be blooming around the end of this month unless they're defeated by rain, frost or wind. The flowers are set so high up that they're hard to appreciate from the ground but with accidental foresight, I had planted the cutting so that the top of the dahlias reach right by our bedroom balcony. Imagine that. Dahlias in December.
