a care package

My mother is the youngest of eleven, and now, she is the last surviving member of her generation. Which means that I have cousins who are much older than me; and they've taken it upon themselves to send me occasional and seasonal exotica from Japan - like salted pickled cherry leaves so that I can make my very own cherry blossom mochi. A challenge for the new year!
