Chapter 14 of Menelaos Ludemis' "A boy is counting the stars"
"If you are hungry, you know it. Your insides are screaming. If you are cold, the same. If you love, how can you understand it? Because, what is love? Somebody tried to say something but he said nothing. He said that it is something like a fire. But is it? Someone else said it is like a dew, someone else like a bowing. What is it, anyway?... If, again, love is something that they call "love", is that love?
Put a sunset and a small boat melting under it. Beauty! But, if there is no eye to see it, is it beauty?
A bird is singing alone in the wilderness woods... If nobody listens to it, is it singing? And is it possible that a lone bird is singing, if no other bird is listening to it with its little ear, behind some leaf?
Wise men tried to say something on the subject too, and they messed it up. Wise men about love!... Babies know more.
A flower said: "Love? It's me!". Such airs and graces make you crazy. A boatman will let the paddles and will scavenge his forehead. Maybe that's love But is it? Who can tell?"
