Ruin of an old fortress

This is the ruins of the #fortress located in #Sarusima island, Tokyo Bay. In 1847, the Edo shogunate made the first cannon fortress using large stones to prepare for a foreign attack. After Japan modernized in 1884, the new army modified it into a fortress using #bricks.
