Went to a funeral today at a crematorium [not parish church]. Got there early so we could find somewhere to park, and we were drawn to this line of headstones - nearly but not quite Commonwealth War Grave style. They were some of the [159] fatalities of the Nottingham Blitz, 9th-11th May 1941. They included 3 members of the Meakin family: Harry [aged 65], Mary [aged 14] and Lily [aged 12]. Wonder if the girls' father was away fighting?
