My friend has recently signed the lease to a new place, and we visited yesterday for the first time.
The house hasn't had much upkeep in a while, as it was going to be demolished for townhouses, but it's been delayed so the landlord decided to rent it out for a further 6 months. The weeds in the garden were taller than I am. (It took approximately 6 hours to clear the garden today).
We were surprised to see that the property contained a bunch of random items, such as a lounge, table, plates, and chairs. There was shower gel and a shower scrubbing thing in the bathroom. There was even a garbage bag with cereal and long life milk left in the kitchen.
It literally looked like someone just upped and left.
Then we found this note under the house.
I feel sad now - I guess we know who the random items belong to, but no way to contact the guy. We don't know how long it's been since he was there.
It's a really nice house that's just been neglected for too long. I wonder if Rod, given the opportunity, could have helped restore its beauty? Or at least prevented the garden from getting to where it ended up.
