Day nine - The signs of life, Dettifoss Canyon

This canyon is in the northern part of the greater Vatnajökull National Park, the largest national park in the country, thus Dettifoss is well protected.

What is Dettifoss ? Dettifoss is Europe's biggest waterfall by volume of water. Dettifoss (Falling Waterfall) is an amazing waterfall. No wonder Riddley Scott chose this spectacular scenery to be the background of the opening scene of his movie Prometheus(2012). Remember that scene ?

Some whitish gross-looking body-builder alien stands atop of Dettifoss, drinks some bubbly black stuff, freaks the hell out, and falls into the waterfall. Then it disappear in water and dissolve into black particles (of DNA as I remember)....This is that waterfall
