After the 8:30 fireworks, I moved spots to try something different.
Both a good and a bad thing. Obviously I was much further away from the fireworks than before. I thought the fireworks on the right would have been a much better show :(
It was cold down on the river due to the humidity and the breeze. While waiting for midnight, the clouds came over and what was previously a clear evening turned into cloud, and drizzle. It was even more cold. Just before midnight, the drizzle got worse, but the wind stopped.
This photo is the result. With no wind, the smoke didn't go anywhere, and just hovered over the city. By the end, you could barely see the city, and the fireworks were hard to see through the haze.
Had I stayed at the original spot ("8:30 fireworks") then I would have had the smoke just sitting over me, and I'm not sure how much I would have actually been able to shoot.
So overall I ended up with some very moody shots due to the smoke haze and the darkness of the city. I think I will consider this location for Riverfire though.
