The first time in close to 6 months I've come even close to being able to shoot the stars. It was supposed to be a clear night, but apparently the clouds didn't read the weather report.
2 and a half hours on a bus to be able to see the stars for 5 minutes. With sunset at 8:09pm, it took until about 9:30 for the stars to be visible due to facing west and dusk, and then I had to wait for the cloud to pass.
And then I had a 15 minute walk back to the station (and back there at 10pm).
Worth it? Totally. I didn't get anywhere near the shots that I was after, but I still love just being out and away from the world.
