Not what I had planned

This evening I spent about an hour or so sitting on a rocky outcropping on the lake shore. I was hoping to get a dramatic sunset; something to really say WOW about.

As I was walking back to my cabin I stopped by the waterfront and took this. Originally I was planning on sharing it only with our camp's social media. This was totally unplanned and was the only exposure that I took of this location today.

When I got back to the computer and started looking at what I had in Lightroom I discovered a throw-away facebook actually turned out better than the sunset shots I had been working on.

I guess Bob Ross was right: There are no mistakes, only happy accidents.
