What a morning.
Needed to get some blood work done and made a new... 'Friend' isn't the right word; 'Causal acquaintance' is too well defined...
Needed to get some blood work done and made a new Blood Booth Buddy today! A high school student was in the next booth over (with her emotional support person) getting some work done. The young lady (maybe mid-teens or so) cried a bit and generally did not like to whole experience. But why am I mentioning it?
While walking to my car to saw the two of 'em sitting (waiting for a ride I assume) and Wonders of Wonders, the girl and her friend started up a conversation. We commiserated about how awful get blood drawn is and whatnot.
Why write about this? Just a realization about prejudice about young people. I would have totally expected that the two of 'em would have gone in, done their thing, and waited for their ride insulated and secure in their own little world. Instead she commented on my distress about having the work done and engaged me in conversation. Maybe all teens aren't precocious little snowflakes living in their gilded snow globes. I wish my Blood Booth Body well.
Other than that, I had a couple-a-few errands to run in town (getting ready for my Election Results Viewing Party!). All-in-all, a nice simple day.
Finally, my first Pandemic-Edition Voting Experience! A bit of a line up (had three folks ahead of me), some extra hoops to jump through (contact tracing details), but nothing much to worry about all-the-same. Got in, made my mark, got out, and tookapic.
Not a bad start to the day!
