The university in our county town was founded just after the Great War; the university had been funded by local people, as a living memorial to honour those who made sacrifices during the Great War. So that they may have life. In this centenary year they are laying wreaths at as many War Memorials as possible. This morning some 50 people gathered in our parish church to mark this event. Those attending included 8 children from the village school, and two ex-servicemen who lives in the village. It was a very good occasion; we seem to do things well in our village.
