When I got to the loch this morning the male flew the length of the loch and landed at the spot I usually feed the young heron. As the young heron was not around I thought I would quickly feed the male then move on to find the young one. Unfortunately it did not go to plan and the young heron spotted the male and chased him back to his end of the loch. She then flew back only to find the male followed her. She chased him for a good 5 minutes before returning. By that time she had lost interest in eating and flew to the wooded area. I walked round to where the male normally waits and he was there. I finished feeding him and made my way home. The crow caught me at the gate and so I gave it a bit of whitebait. In the afternoon it was more orderly. The young heron flew over and got her feed of whitebait and the male got his sardines.
This is a very poor shot from the morning. I had plenty of opportunity this afternoon but forgot to put a card in my camera.
