The young heron flew over to the grass today and got a lot of whitebait. She was joined momentarily by the older female. Who was obviously less comfortable and flew back to the water. The young one who had eaten a good share flew over with her. I walked over gave them a bit more and went in search of the male and youngest one. No sign of the male but the youngest one was there and got the fish that was going to be for the male. It can certainly put it away! I only managed one visit today and it is likely going to be the same tomorrow.
The inset is of the youngest one and brought home the "circle of life" as I could easily have been looking at the young one, as she was when I first started feeding her.
