I went up to the loch with MrsD this morning. The young one flew over to the edge of the loch and had a feed on sardines and pollock. When she'd had enough she flew back to the centre of the loch only to b passed in flight by the youngest one. It handed at the same spot and got a similar feed. The Crow landed right next to me and I offered it a bit of pollock. It looked very carefully and I was about to lay it on the fence for it when it hopped over and took it from my hand and flew off.
After lunch I couldn't see any Heron around. I reached the clearing but there was still nothing. I continued walking and heard a heron call from just where I had passed. I backtracked and saw the young one had flown over and was letting me know she was there. Whilst it may sound basic, I was quite taken aback that this was the young one communicating with me! She was followed by the youngest one who landed about 10 yards away. I fed them both then made my way to get a top up of sardines whilst they are still available and some food for Morag.
