When I went towards the loch today, the young one spotted me and flew over to the grass. She had a fair feed then flew to the water's edge where she was joined by the older female, the gull and 3 crows. I gave them all a feed and the young one flew up to the viewing platform. I turned to see where she had gone and noticed a heron about the same age as her on the path. I gave it some food but after a few bits of hake the young one chased it. I turned round to see the older female had been joined by another new heron (an adult). I gave them what was left for that end of the loch and made for the mid point. The male adult was waiting so I fed him then went further round to the very young one. All in there were 6 heron this morning. This afternoon it was my usual 4. You couldn't miss the adult male as he came screeching across the loch.
