The little female heron met me near the entrance this morning along with the gull, the juvenile gull and crows too numerous to count. The little female got a very good feed. The crows and the gulls got a share as well. I then made my way to the clearing and was pleased to see the little moorhen was back. I gave her a feed which she picked up and ate in a sheltered spot. I had given up on the nervous male heron appearing but as I was walking back I heard a call and saw him land at the water's edge a bit in front of me. I fed him then made for home.
There really can't be a better start to the day than a walk round a loch mixing with these amazing birds.
