There were 4 heron today (the shot is the little female at full stretch). Not surprising as it was very windy and they cannot watch for me from a height. A gull was a real problem as it was on everything I threw, until I moved closer to the herons individually and placed myself between the gull and the heron. When I got to the path it was fine. The coots were there as well and got a good feed. The gull tried to muscle in there too but got more than it bargained for as it was chased off. The coot chicks are now coming over themselves as soon as they spot me but the parents are not far behind.
