So for the last 4 months it's been a whirlwind of shows. Both Hadestown and Beetlejuice started at the same time, Beetlejuice on the 7th and Hadestown on the 8th May. I fixated on both which was not particularly fun to juggle, but while Hadestown finished mid-July, Beetlejuice only finished now, 11th September.
Yes I agree that it's insane to have spent so much time, effort and money on both shows, but across the last few months I have met so many wonderful people, made heaps of memories, and even acquired a 4ft sandworm who went with me to see the last Beetlejuice show.
I'm sad it's over, glad to have some spare time and money back, and hopefully I'll get a chance to visit the Netherworld again next year in Sydney or Brisbane.
I know this photo isn't amazing photographically, but we stood there after the show and watched the gate come up out of the ground and (slowly. very very slowly) rise up, and to quote Beetlejuice himself:
"This..... feels..... meaningful...."
