Chilianwalla Memorial, Royal Hospital Chelsea

Shown here in the middle of the Great Pavilion, Chelsea Flower Show.

Erected in 1853, this tall, square stone obelisk is topped with a crown and a gold-painted globe. It is dedicated to the 255 officers and men of the 24th Regiment of Foot who died at the Battle of Chilianwalla (Punjab, India) during the Anglo-Sikh Wars on January 13, 1849
