Ian Prince Yeh, me too, I'm uncomfortable taking photos of strangers, especially when publishing them on public websites.
Beyond the personal moral stance of taking photos of strangers (where I tend to lean towards protecting everyone's right to privacy), there are the legal issues.
As far as I understand it actually breaks Swiss law if the person in the published photo can be recognised, unless you get permission. Apparently the laws differ from country to country, but then again I'm not a lawyer... and even for lawyers it's ...err... complicated, as described here: blog.droit-et-photographie.com... JudithO Think as long as it is "for non-commercial purposes" its' fine in the US, but actually no idea if that is true ... But I guess lots of people take vacation pictures or similar and have people in the shot that they use for facebook/a blog or something so there must be a legal side that its' ok (or we are all in violation of some law we don't know ;) ). I always think it's a different feeling with a real camera than just your phone: with the phone the "subject" might not be aware that you are taking a picture but with a camera it is obvious that you are! I just started a discussion about it in talks to see what other people think!

I also here you about moving this conversation to "talks". On the other hand what a boring and dry subject! But that's my fault for bringing it up! I'll let @Paweł decide whether it's a worthy subject for discussion on what should remain a fun and creative activity :)
