It turns red

We have this shrub for years in our garden. It never turned red in fall. But now we had to fall several trees due to storms, the shrub finally turns red in fall.

jokele Yes, it gets more sunlight now. We had ~25m high pines. During storms two of them fall. So it was too dangerous and we removed the pines. They took so many water and light, its better now.
