I returned the keys to our old office today. We've spent more than 4 years in that room. I get nostalgic whenever I leave an old appartment or an office space. I always stare at the empty space for several minutes before turning off the lights and closing the door for the last time. I might even shed a tear.
I think I kind of say "thank you" this way. And there's a lot to be thankful for. My company made a decent amount of money. We've built some amazing products there. I got the idea for tookapic in that very room. And we've built it right there. We've spent hours playing Tekken on an old xBox 360. We had a few parties, two floods in there and even one fire. Fun times. Good times. Thanks @idered and @bonzai.
The room looked much different when we moved in. In fact - this space was divided into two separate rooms. The walls were white, the floor was covered in some old, dirty, disgusting covering.
We turned it into one big space by tearing down the wall in the middle, put a nice floor, painted the walls with the blackboard paint and rearranged the lights. It looked really well, especially in the evenings. I hope new lessee will take good care of that place.
I'm moving to a brand new place. A coworking space. Hacklag in centre of Białystok. So if you want to have a chat feel free to step by.
