Yep, dang it, that's a cute ratty. Yeah, I try not to broadcast that I think rodents are cute. Mind you, I don't want a loose one ever living in my house! But out in nature like that? Sure, it's cute! We've had the caged tame ones as pets. I was a school teacher in a remote village and the pet keeper in the pet store told me it was the only small pet for the classroom that she could guarantee wouldn't bite my students. She was correct. Those two ratties never bit the children in my class and they handled them daily.

Yeah, I think context is king when it comes to rodents. A well groomed rat in nature? Pretty cute. A dirty rat leaping out of the waist high trash can right beside you on the sidewalk (happened to me a few days ago)? Not so cute!
