The mighty semla

So, Shrove Tuesday. In Sweden of old you geared up for the fast by eating a plain wheat bun stuffed with cream and almond and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Well, nobody fasts anymore, at least not for religious reasons (I'm looking at you five-twoers) but we still munch semla like the end of days was coming.

Åsa bought two of these beauties today. Really good ones, lots of almond. I didn't have time to light it, I plonked it down on a piece of paper and snapped a few shots from some different angles while Åsa was in the shower. Turned out pretty good!
