I've been helping someone with a photography project today. We've been figuring out the best lighting for it. This is one of the test shots. Kind of a "making of" photo.
I really like trying out new stuff, experimenting with light, modifiers, framing and photography in general.

So how did you guys end up setting the light(s) up for this?
That is quite interesting. How do you achieve that kind of look?
A single spotlight hanged above the shoes. In this case it was a strobe on a boom crane. The modifier used was a beautiy dish with a honeycomb grid to make the light more direct.
And that's how you got that silky smooth gradient? Or do you needed to add some post production? Thanks for the explanation and congrats, great photo!
There is a postproduction in all my photos, but with this kind of modifier you can get a "silky smooth" radial gradient with no problem.
