WK Fan This type of bamboo in Taiwan we usually called it "Gui (桂)" bamboo. It grow fast and will have a lot of bamboo shoot. The most important is, I love it so much! It taste very good when stir frying with pork. :P

azumac @WK Yes, it is very tempting to dig this up for a good stir fry, but I think I'll get some from the store instead and let this one grow. It looks like it will be a nice fat bamboo! ;-)
