slug is served, on a fork

We visited our friend's well-kept garden and found what Barbara considers her garden guardian, that is, the brave one who deals with the pesky slugs. I did once try to pick up a slug with chopsticks and was spectacularly defeated when the creature exuded an unbelievable amount of oozing slime. Now, I put out a shallow dish of beer for the slugs to pass out in, and the rest of the bottle, I enjoy. A win-win for all!
