I had a Canon 50mm f/1.4 for a year - for me it is a waste of money. Although it is soft wide open, the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Lens is sharp at least f/2 and very sharp when stopped down to f/2.8 or narrower. I tested (and recommend) Canon 50mm f/1.8 STM and I'm impressed. Good value for money. If you are considering the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 ART, it is a very much better choice than the Canon 50mm f/1.4 (in my opinion). If you are considering the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 ART, it is a very much better choice than the Canon 50mm f/1.4 (in my opinion).
