Margie Thank you. Yes, they are totally flat and these two were cuddled together. Taken on the tree. I didn't cut them.

Margie I circled the tree about 8 times trying to find ones that were isolated. And the light was dappled which ended up working because it was subtle. It is a late blooming variety of dogwood.
