azumac the bamboo shoot became a bamboo stalk very fast! No bamboo shoots but I now have a lot of leaves for making steamed rice bundles (zongzi (粽子)!!

Yes, you are right! Chinese people use the leaves to warp the Zongzi. The unique flavor of the bamboo leaves makes Zongzi even more delicious! :)
Just remember to wash and clean the leaves first.
