Day 1: tookapic.com/photos/459964
Day 2 - around 5 hours sleep the night before, a full day of working, and then another 100km out - this time to Tallarook.
I'd never been to Tallarook before, and I'm sure it's a very lovely town, but...... there's really nothing there. Beautiful clear skies, which is always nice for Milky Way, but one thing I didn't anticipate - trees. There's so much bushland around that there was no chance for any foreground. Very similar situation as the night before - most of my limited time was spent wandering around the township before settling for a car park facing a paddock. Unfortunately the core of the Milky Way was way up either way by the time I settled down, so didn't really see much of anything unless the camera was pointed all the way up.
Side note: Has anyone read the "Tomorrow When The War Began" series? It's a bit freaky having read a story about soldiers in the bush when you're alone in the dark bush. Especially when you hear a random sneeze.....
