craig Wow What a strange tree!

jewels Indeed! Wanted to shoot this one for a while!

Nutt :) :) great pic!!

jewels Thanks :-)

Bruce It could work in black and white as well, isolating the uniqueness of the tree against the background.

jewels I tried it, but it did not look as good. My initial plan was to get an interesting long exposure, but the clouds were too static. But I will go back!

Bruce I see where you were going with it. It can be challenging to get perfect landscapes when it's hard to anticipate the lighting or environmental conditions. I don't know how many times I've seen the beginnings of great light, grabbed my camera and tripod, jumped into the car, drove 15 mins (I have a couple of favorite spots), and when I get there, the lighting or conditions aren't that great. I call those my "AM" shots. Good luck on your next visit :-). Oh, "AM" stands for "Awwww, Man!!!"

jewels Perfect summary of my day! The wind was blowing, but the clouds were not moving :-(

Satoshi T Was this tree once attacked by lightning, and the upper part had died?

Bruce I just assumed it was a bad haircut.

Nutt 😂😂😂

Katrina Yu Somehow "the giving tree" by Shel Silverstein comes to mind!! Are you familiar with it?

And this is so full of hope, it's beautiful.
